Aromasin is available in tablet form (25 mg). The basic doses are 12.5 mg every other day, 12.5 mg per day or, very rarely, 25 mg per day (depending on the individual reactions). Professional athletes may take 25 mg per day during the final 2 weeks (if training for a competition).
As for the post cycle therapy, the usual doses do not exceed 12.5 mg per day. The recommended interval between doses is 3-4 days.
- Helps prevent gynecomastia and hypertension;
- Helps reduce estrogen (by 97%);
- Helps increase the level of anabolic hormones;
- Helps reduce suppression of the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis.
It is important to point out that there are still some disadvantages. The most well known negative effect of Aromasin is its influence on the synthesis of “good” cholesterol. So if you just want to prevent gynecomastia and accumulation of water, you may use Nolvadex or Clomid.
Aromasin in medical practice
Aromasin is known as an antitumor drug for the treatment of cancer (in particular breast cancer). This drug is used in postmenopausal women with breast cancer in case of disease progression after hormonal treatment. Also, Aromasin is used after adjuvant therapy with Tamoxifen (in order to reduce the risk of recurrence of the disease).
Aromasin lowers serum estrogen concentrations in postmenopausal women. The maximum reduction (> 90%) is achieved at doses of 10-25 mg.
Exemestane has no progestogenic or estrogenic activity. It has low androgenic activity, especially when used at high doses. It has no effect on the biosynthesis of cortisol and aldosterone in the adrenal glands.
Aromasin tablets are taken at a recommended dose of 25 mg once a day (better after a meal). If tumor progression continues, it is recommended to stop using Aromasin.
What are the side effects of Aromasin?
- Digestive system: very often – nausea, anorexia, constipation or diarrhea, pain in the abdomen;
- Nervous system: dizziness, fatigue, insomnia, headache, depression;
- Cardiovascular and musculoskeletal systems: very often – flushing, joint and muscle pain;
- Dermatologic reactions: rash and alopecia;
- Other manifestations: leg edema, lymphopenia.
The Dosage for Aromasin in Bodybuilding
The most common dose for Aromasin in bodybuilding is 10-15 mg a day.
Aromasin overdose can slow down the rate of muscle growth, and lead to depression, high cholesterol level, increased bone fragility, loss of libido and joint pain. At the same time, Aromasin is better tolerated than other agents (for example, Tamoxifen).
Prophylactic dosage in bodybuilding: 12.5 mg once in two days.
Aromasin dosage for the treatment of gynecomastia: 25 mg daily (until symptoms disappear completely). After that, patients should use 12.5 mg every other day.
Aromasin in anabolic steroid cycles:
When used with Testosterone Propionate, Dianabol: take 12.5 mg every other day.
When used with Sustanon, Testosterone Enanthate and Testosterone Cypionate: take 12.5 mg every other day.
Just like with other aromatase inhibitors, Aromasin doses can be adjusted according to the patient’s response. If you suffer from depression, low libido and erectile dysfunction, the dosage must be slightly reduced.
Aromasin for post cycle therapy (PCT)
As you already know, Aromasin (Exemestane) is used to reduce high levels of estrogen. The dosages range from 12.5 mg every other day to 6.25 mg once in three days. The dosage should be individualized, because excessive suppression of estrogen in the body can lead to low libido, high cholesterol, depressed mood, etc.
Aromasin is definitely the best and safest product for post cycle therapy (PCT). It helps quickly restore the body’s own testosterone production, since high estrogen levels may suppress the hypothalamic-pituitary-testicular axis. The usual dosage in PCT is 12.5 mg every day or once in two days for 3 weeks.
It is recommended to take Aromasin during meals or immediately after a meal. The drug can be used in athletes who suffer from diseases of the liver or kidneys. However, in this case it is recommended to reduce the dosage of Exemestane.
The drug has a mild anabolic effect. It can significantly decrease swelling during the estrogenic activity reduction process. Of course, there are many other highly effective drugs. Nevertheless, many athletes still choose Aromasin because of its high efficiency in combating gynecomastia, along with its ability to reduce excess body fat.
Aromasin Side Effects
Taking an excessive amount of Aromasin may lead to the suppression of estrogen production and the following side effects:
- Reduction in lean muscle mass;
- Loss of libido;
- High cholesterol levels;
- Pain in the joints;
- Loss of bone strength;
- Arterial and venous thrombosis;
- Dry mucous membranes throughout the urogenital area.
The severity of side effects depends on individual sensitivity to the active ingredient of the drug. As a rule, if you follow the treatment recommendations for using Aromasin, you will not get every side effect that is listed above.
